Sip Smart! BCSip Smart! BC

Sip Smart! BCis an educational program that helps teach children in grades 4 to 6 about sugary drinks and about making healthy drink choices. Sip Smart! BC™ was created and developed by the BC Pediatric Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation with funding from the BC Alliance for Healthy Living.  Sip Smart! BC:

  • aims to raise awareness of the negative health effects associated with the consumption of sugar sweetened beverages
  • grade specific activities to engage students verbally, visually, and experientially in the learning process, and includes handouts, overheads, assessment tools, posters, and teacher backgrounders with nutrition information
  • materials can be downloaded and printed, or ordered separately

An Agreement between the Childhood Obesity Foundation (COF) and BC Pediatric Society (BCPS) enables COF to use the Sip Smart! BC™  Trademark and Copyright to deliver this resource for Grade 4-6 students. The Sip Smart! BC™ update was a partnership of the BC Pediatric Society and the B.C. Government and was made possible through funding from the Provincial Health Services Authority.
